How do your programs work?
We list our programs on the Outschool marketplace, and use other other platforms such as Minecraft and Scratch to run our programs. Our expert counselors run programs in various topics ranging from game design, engineering, to coding and more.

In there a minimum age requirement?
Yes, the minimum age requirement is 8 for our programs.

Online Safety
How do you ensure our children are learning in a safe environment?
All of our employees go through various trainings that help them keep kids safe while participating in our programs. Our employees have completed sexual harrassment training, child abuse mandated reporter training, and SafeSport training. In addition – we run background checks on all employees.
All of our programs are safelisted, so only those that sign up for our programs and agree to our Code of Conduct will gain access to our programs.

U.S. Center for SafeSport
U.S. Center for SafeSport is an independent, national nonprofit organization providing education, resources, and training to promote respect and prevent abuse in sports, located in Denver, Colorado. Toolkits on sexual abuse and tips for Parents of Preschool Children, Parents of School-Age Children, Parents of Middle School Youth, and Parents of High School Aged Adolescents are available.

What is Connected Camps?
Connected Camps is a nonprofit founded by three girl geeks with a passion for education and the positive potential of technology. Our mission is to build a global online community where kids build, code, play, and learn from one another. We tap the power of youth tech experts to teach and mentor, and have served thousands of kids through our online and community-based programs. Learn more here.
Where are you located?
Connected Camps is located anywhere you can find a good internet connection. Our core staff is located in Southern California.
Why Minecraft?
Not only is Minecraft the most popular video game of all time, it’s a phenomenal platform for learning, exploring, and collaboration. Think of it like virtual Lego. We use it to teach coding, engineering, animation, modding and more.
How do you address privacy and security on your servers?
Although we will encourage campers to keep personal information private, we cannot prevent kids from sharing with one another online. Moderators will remove personal information and explain to campers that sharing it violates our terms of service and risks their own privacy and security.
Does a Minecraft account come with the purchase of a program?
No, you will need to purchase your own Minecraft account for a PC/Mac computer. You can purchase an account here: http://minecraft.net
Can we sign in using the Pocket, Xbox, Playstation, iPhone, or Apple TV editions?
Yes, we support Minecraft Bedrock edition too!
