Online Afterschool Coding Workshops
Our special Programming in Minecraft server is for kids aged 10-14 years old interested in learning to code in-game using the Lua programming language.
Students learn and apply programming concepts through the ComputerCraft mod in Minecraft. They write real code in Lua that controls computers and robots (“Turtles”) to complete tasks and challenges. Basic programming concepts such as loops and functions are taught in the service of meeting these challenges. The overall goal is to move students beyond coding syntax and get them learning how code robust, unique programs to solve complex problems.
